Time to Fall Back!

🌹WineDown Wednesdays w/ Yours Truly🌹

Hey hey hey welcome to Wednesday!!!! How is your week going? Mine is moving along very quickly, as have these past couple of weeks. I ended up lucky, though, and both of my girls had the same fall break, so I was able to maneuver about a little bit better since they could stay home together during the day, aka sleep/lounge around all day, lol.

My favorite time of the year is coming up, or I should say my second most favorite time of the year is coming up, Fall Daylight Savings Time! I don't know what it is about that extra not-real hour of sleep, but I LOVE the way I feel after the time has moved back. I wake up so refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to conquer anything that comes my way. Craziness right? Because in theory you could just sleep an extra hour and have the same feeling, but when I do it that way, I also have lost an hour of being able to do any work because I slept an hour longer......confusing, right, but it completely makes sense (to me). I honestly thought we were doing away with DST here in Indianapolis, so imagine my surprise when we sprang forward this year. I'm really hoping that come 2026, we just stay in this fallback time.

For my middle daughter, we are in the final weeks before the cotillion happens. She has been working so hard, and she is so excited. There is a father/daughter dance that takes place during the gala, and her daddy must be keeping up because I have not seen any extra practices from the two of them, and believe me, there was a schedule for one, lol. What is also funny is that the cotillion is a formal (for those who do not know), and do you know my daughter had to "approve" my dress. 🙃 I kid you not, I had to send MULTIPLE dresses before I received a final approval, and if I am being honest, my dress barely made the cut. My sister friend (who's daughter, my goddaughter, is also in the cotillion) and I were talking/reflecting on our days growing up, and neither of us could recall our mothers asking our permission about any dress selections.......man, times have changed.

I have another funny story for you as well. Another one of my sister friends gave me one of the BEST birthday gifts ever, and one I will actually be able to share with you over time. My youngest fell in LOVE with these little gifts and decided she was going to SELL them so SHE could make some money. Yes, you read correctly, my youngest took MY gifts so SHE could sell them. This kid has been cold-calling stores and everything to sell these items. She was successful with one store, set up a meeting, went to it, and now is waiting for the owner to get back in the country to review the product to potentially sell in their store......what in the world, LOL. Everyone said she was going to give me a run for my money......and I am starting to believe she is. 🥴

Oh by the way I just started my 13th book for the year (goal wise anyway, because I have definitely read more 🤭) so I am almost there! How are your goals coming along? Can you believe we are in the fourth quarter!?!? Even if you did not hit all your goals, it's ok! Simply re-evaluate for next year and continue to push and grind to put yourself in the position to be solidly ready to start the first quarter off with a bang. Something we always say in our brokerage is that what you put into the 4th quarter sets the pace for your next year......or something along those lines, but you get the gist. Keep up the work now, get started now, don't give up, and let's be ready to start 2026 with a bang! 😎
