Wine Down Wednesday: Surgery Recovery, Honey Wine & Getting Back to Life
🌹WineDown Wednesdays w/ Yours Truly🌹
Hey hey hey welcome to Wednesday! How is your week going?! Mine is moving slowly, but I am finally able to get out and about.......at least a very little bit. This time of year is one of the busiest times as spring starts to shine, and people get out and about after hibernating for the winter.
I know as you read, you're thinking, finally get out and about??? Where have you been? Well, I ended up having to go into an emergency major surgery. I had to get my gall bladder removed, which, to me in retrospect, things could've been worse, but apparently, a gall bladder removal is classified as a major surgery (go figure).
So how did I end up in surgery, you ask??? Well, it was a beautiful sunny Monday, and I had the honor of being able to preview The St. Margaret's Hospital Guild Decorators Show House & Garden, which is amazing! It is running now until Mother's Day, and the cost of the ticket is for a great cause. If you get a chance to check it out, please do:2026 Decorators Show House Tickets. The walk-through is really quite the experience. There were a few rooms where I stood looking at the room and back to the program, comparing the before and afters in amazement at what the designer was able to do.
Anyway, I walk through the amazing show house, take pictures of my favorite rooms, and grab a couple of cards for clients needing a decorator. After touring the house, I made my way to the rehab facility so I could visit my dad, and on the way, I noticed my heart felt like it was pumping really hard. Now, in all honesty, I thought I was having a panic attack. Those previous weeks had been touch-and-go with my dad, and I assumed it was a reaction. The problem..... no amount of box breathing, counting my breaths, naming everything I could hear....I could not get my heart to calm down. I'm visiting my dad, and it turns out he has to go to the ER. So my mum and I met him down at the ER (I'm not going to name this ER, but it's wild, dirty inside, insanely booked, overworked employees 😕, and located downtown, lol).
So we are in the ER, and my heart rate is still not getting under control, and after looking up several different issues online and researching what could be going on, plus a threat from my sister to put me in the current ER, I decided to go swoop Mi Amor up and go to the Heart Hospital. I walk in, tell them I'm having the worst panic attack of my life or something else is really wrong.......turns out it was my gall bladder. MY GALL BLADDER!!!!! Do you know that was something that NEVER popped up in all of the research I was doing? My surgery went well, unfortunately, it was about 4 times as long as it was supposed to have been (there were some complications), but I made it and am here.
So I have been spending the last weeks healing, which has been painful for my family because allegedly im hard headed 🥹 I am not sure how to interpret that. I have been resting in the house; I just tend to get up quite a bit. If you have ever been injured or been told you have to bed rest, it always seems that much harder to bed rest. I made a joke to my friends that I didn't ask for my vacation in the right words, lol. I said I needed a break, but I didn't mean a bedrest break, lol, you have to be careful with your words.
Words are powerful! When you ask for certain things, speak your goals out loud, or even while speaking words to yourself. Make sure you are specific in what you are asking for, and if, for whatever reason, you're having a bad day/moment in life and think something negative in your head. You need to immediately follow it up with something positive because your subconscious mind does not differentiate between the negative and the positive, and you do NOT want your subconscious taking in any negative energy. 😎
